Victoria Jackson Gray Adams
Victoria Jackson Gray Adams was a Civil Rights activist and a founding member of Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party. Her attributes towards Civil Rights includes helping the workers of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee by getting her Pastor to let them use the church for their meetings. She trained individuals in voter registration by teaching literacy classes. She joined the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and worked as field secretary. As a member she also led a boycott against businesses in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. As a founding member of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party, she joined Fannie Lou Hamer and Annie Devine to challenge the white power structure of segregation. Victoria Adams opened Freedom Schools, developed to help push for Civil Rights in Mississippi.
