Bernard Lafayette, Jr.
Bernard Lafayette, Jr., is a Civil Rights activist, a minister, educator, lecturer, and most notably an expert on the strategies used to achieve nonviolent social change. He was appointed National Program Administrator for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). He has served as Director of the PUSH Excel Institute. In 1960, he was a founder of the Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). Bernard Lafayette, Jr., has many accolades, but, more important, he is an ordained Minister and holds a B.A. from the American Baptist Theological Seminary in Nashville, Tennessee.
