Rev., Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was Pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama and a co-pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. He was also a prominent leader in the Civil Rights Movement from his early years to his death in 1968. Dr. King has too many achievements to note, but he is one of the most recognized leaders who fought to end racism and discrimination's. Dr. King is most noted for his “I Have A Dream”, speech at the March On Washington. He was instrumental in getting President Lyndon B. Johnson to sign the Civil Rights Act in 1964. On October 14, 1964, King won the Nobel Peace Prize for combating racial inequality through nonviolent resistance. In his final years, he expanded his focus to include opposition towards poverty and the Vietnam War.
